200 Years Present
This was a fun little painting that played with the concept of time a bit.
Red: there u go Black: that way we know its a painting Black: yes Black: alright you're red Red: yes Black: and it's morning Red: not for me Black: and you're in.... australia Black: oh so you're ahead of time Red: yes Red: we are in the future Black: wow Black: exciting Black: this is now sci fi Red: hahaha Red: i hate sci fi Black: alright so it's my job to make a portrait of you Black: good so far we know you hate sci fi Red: hahaha Black: hahah Black: what else do you hate Black: you don't really strike me as a hater Red: im not Black: nice Black: you're more of a ..... Black: hmm what would you say.. Red: lover Black: love that Red: its the opposite to hater so... :p Black: it's kind of better than being a hater don't you think Red: yes Black: well that's great - i get to make a portrait of an australian lover this morning Red: hahaha Black: alright so let's see - what color hair? Red: its about six different colours at the moment Black: wow Black: red blue green yellow purple and orange? Red: hahaha no not that crazy Black: blonde, almost blonde, a little lighter than blonde, a little darker than blonde and blonde-like? Red: just like brown, with blonde, violet and black streaks Black: oh that's beautiful Black: a perfect palette Red: yeah i have a friend who works at a really good salon so i get good hair for free Black: no let;s pretend we're not in the future... but back in the past Black: 200 hundred years ago in fact Red: ok Black: so how i would make a painting of you would be just a bit different than what we have right here today Red: there would be no internet :p Black: yipes! Black: but they still had paint Red: hahaha Black: there was brown... and blonde color,,, Black: violet and black too Red: hahaha Red: so you could paint my hair Black: nice Red: hahaha Black: let's make that painting - what if someone 200 hundred years in the future were to look at that painting of you Black: what would you be saying to them? Black: who would you be? Red: i dont know Red: i dont like talking about myself Black: alright good - that's my job afterall Black: how would we describe your skin's color against the black? Black: light peachy? Black: warm rose? Red: too white! Black: opps everybody - our model is on her break! Black: ah Black: she's back Black: white white Black: perfect Black: so all we have to do is mix up these colors and arrange them on this surface and we'll have a portrait of you Red: im intrugued Red: *intrigued Black: me too

hey tom, it's gina, not too anonymous haha. so wow that's an interesting topic, looking through the eyes of someone who lived 200 years ago. if i lived 200 years ago and looked at how life is in 2005, big buildings and cars would scare me to death haha. people's clothing would shock me, and i'd wonder what the heck happened to all the trees and grass, and what's this thing called "ce-ment" all over the ground n walls? hehe. it's also kinda cool how u talked to someone "in the future" hehe. anyway, nice painting =)
intriguing post - a direct challenge to the prevailing notion of western linear time. keep me posted
