Face Flower Eyes

Kelly's back as red. This wound up becoming a painting about moms, flowers and babies. some other things too but mostly that.

Black: hello rice kelly Red: hiya! Black: what do you do to get over a bad day when they happen? Red: I usually call my mother and talk to her about it Red: and then I consume copious amounts of beer Black: hahah nice. i was just reading about that Black: well the mom part not the beer part Red: haha Red: yeah, it's always nice to talk to the ma Red: I call her almost every other day Black: i'm reading 'woman's day' we're gonig in there tomorrow Red: hehe! Black: the page open in front of me right now is mom time Black: so funny Red: haha, aww Red: moms are wonderful Red: even though they are irrational and silly at times Black: they are indeed Red: I think that's part of being a ma Black: yes because you have that stuff to worry about Black: moms are world makers Red: lots of stuff! Red: yes, they are Red: I always make sure my mom knows she is appreciated, even if I don't always show it Red: I feel bad for being a bratty little kid in the past Black: that's great to hear Black: here's one from the book "My mother and I have 'Momma-Daughter Day.' Usually we stop for a latte and breadfast, then spend the day shopping at consignment and antiques stores." from CA Black: breakfast that is Red: awwww Red: that is cute Black: this is good i'm feeling better already kelly Red: hehe Red: I'm glad Black: glad to talk to you Red: oh, tom, I have a fabulous mom-related story to tell you Black: nice! Black: wan't to do a quick painting about it? Red: I'd love to Black: nice! Black: alright a mom painting this is Black: just two people talking about moms Red: I will never get used to this 'red' thing Black: ah here we are Red: I changed my msn name to 'mofo' because it's rather rude and I like rudeness, in general Black: rudeness is fun Red: my mom messaged me and said, "who is mofo?" Red: I said, "why it's a monster on the television, of course" Black: ah Red: she belived me Red: *believed, rather Black: you got out of that one! Red: and said, "it sounds more like a bad hair-do!" Black: ah Red: oh ma Black: hahah Black: so i'm almost finished this issue of woman's day Red: how was it? Black: it's fun - i like new perspectives Black: i found it very relaxing - calmed me down a bit - shifted the focus Black: well the magazine did and our earlier conversation did also Black: so what's important to you at this moment kelly? Red: right now, it's important for me to feel calm and relaxed and content with things Red: what is importan to you right at this moment? Black: ah that's good me too Black: yes i'm sharing that Black: just focusing on the essentials Black: it's funny - we can use words to make a 'clear your head' painting Red: clearing my head has always been really important to me Red: I like going on long walks in the woods. very helpful Black: here's something from the book - it's head-clearing Black: page, 5 years old: "Mom, why do you call Grandma 'Mom'?" Black: "because she's my mother." Black: page: "Why doesn't she call you 'Mom' like we do?" Red: aww Black: because she's alwayss called me 'Paula' since i was a girl" Black: page: "so when did you change your name to Mom?" Red: awww Red: I love kids Black: will you have some one day? Red: I hope so. Red: kids are so honest Black: yes Black: that really comes across in that dialogue above Black: they're very zen Red: yes, it does Black: it's all about the moment Black: the instant - the whole world is now Red: I love how babies stare at people Black: a baby stared at me today Red: aww Black: i was on the train Black: one of the smiling kind Red: I love when babies stare at me! if you smile at them, sometimes they smile back Red: awww. smiling babies are my favourite Red: I went to see my friend's new baby in the hospital recently Black: what goes into a smiling baby? Red: wow.... I don't know where to even begin. it's almost what doesn't go in Red: it's just humanity in its purest form, as cheesy as that sounds Black: yes i like how you put that Black: so could we be more like babies then? is that the idea? Red: babies are garden of eden Red: I'd like to Black: but locked into words - it's hard Red: the only catch is that it's impossible to be a baby and appreciated it, or even remember it Red: yes Black: oh but i think there are time when it all come back though Black: there are times that should be Red: this is almost making me teary! Black: when someone is stroking your hair while your half asleep on a weekend afternoon - that's one Black: you're Black: wow spelling tonight Red: haha, I'm the same way tonight. me good in english! Black: babies can't spell so maybe this is a good thing Red: =) Black: baybe Red: I think the half awake/half asleep parts of my day are the most interesting Red: and if I could feel any way forever, it woul be half awake and half asleep Red: *would, even Red: jeeze! Black: ah! we just did my 9th salon and my waking dream friend nadia was there! Red: =) Red: who is this nadia? Black: yes that's a good state to be in - a good state to make things Black: she's a lovely woman - she's been in wow about a million paintings of mine so far Red: so many! Black: yes a million is a lot Black: she's the one who did that michael moore fahrenheit 911 cover painting with me last august Red: ooh, I remember that one Red: it was good Black: yes she really made that happen Red: that is wonderful Black: so she was at the salon this time and while i did the portrait performance i gave her a shout out Black: hah it was nice Red: haha Red: "shout outs to nadia!" Red: =) Black: ah and you too! Red: heheh Black: is your hair up or down today kelly? Red: it's a little bit of both Black: ah Red: I enjoy it Black: that's important stuff for a portrait Red: =) Black: so maybe it's up and maybe it's down Black: it's all about how you see it Red: I like that kind of thing Red: it's all about perspective Black: yes indeed Black: should this be like one of those stiff renaissance portraits? Red: hmm, that is an interesting thought Black: or could we just keep letting it flow Red: hmm, I think I am in favour of flowing Black: unfurling Black: i like that word too Red: that puts a lovely image in my mind Black: oh tell me Red: of a young fern Red: in the backyard in the home I lived in as a child Black: plants dance Red: it was over in the far corner of the garden Red: I liked the way they curled up at first Red: and then 'unfurled', if you will =) Black: i think it's important to have love for plants Red: I always liked botany in high school Red: but maybe that was just because we didn't have to dissect any frogs :S Black: the study of plants Red: I skipped class during the dissections Black: but can that compare to putting one's face in front of an opening purple flower? Red: oh, it's not even close Black: see that's the baby part Black: the other is more maybe baybe Red: =) Black: face flower eyes Red: so pretty Black: so i guess now i'm a baby flower mom painter Black: i like subjects! Black: they're fun to play with Red: hehe, yes they are Red: well I am afraid I have to cut this painting short Red: I just realized that I must wake up early tomorrow! Red: it's been lovely chatting with you, as usual Black: well we can just bring it to a close Black: yes yes same Red: =) night! Black: goodnight to all the viewers and.. Black: find a flower Black: how's that? Red: =) Red: sounds lovely
