Recovery or Saying Houston Like Houston (Cristina)

Tonight's painting for the blog is about recovery. it's called "Recovery"

 

Black: i'll introduce the painting to people Black: hi everybody this is my friend chap from texas Black: the painting is called recovery Black: no "Recovery" Black: that's because.................... Black: chap? Red: i'm here Red: sorry i had to go get a drink Black: haha Red: woo! Black: nice nice Red: i'm excited Black: recovery - that's what we're all about here Red: and somewhat nervous Red: haha Black: no don't be Black: people recover all the time Red: thats true Black: right now in fact at this very moment there are people recovering Black: like you for instance Black: how's that going? Red: i only wish it would go by faster Red: slowly but surely i'm getting better but,, eh Red: i suppose i kind of like this down time though Red: i get the chance to relax and re-evaluate alot of things Black: yes it's all about slowing down right? Red: people forget to slow down Black: are you smelling any roses? Red: haha if i could go outside, i would Red: for now i'm enjoying the catcher in the rye and music Red: television was fine for the first few days, but after a while it was just repetative Black: yes same stuff over and over right? Black: it's almost like with television you get the same stuff over and over Black: over and over again you get the same stuff watching television Black: that's why painting is good -it's not always the same old stuff like television Red: exactly Black: which shows you the same stuff over and over Black: but breaking out the the loop Black: you're here! Red: haha Black: we have a very large audience tonight on the blog for paintings Black: let's see................. 7 people! Red: really? Red: woo! Black: nope nope Black: somebody just left Red: well, atleast they checked it out? Black: but maybe they'll be back Black: haha Red: i hope Red: haha they all come back Black: so what's the essential texan's guide to recovery? Black: what's top of the list as they say? Red: iced tea and a cool breeze Red: it sounds cliche Black: because you know we might be talking to other recoverers out there Black: no not at all Black: i like cliches Black: i like to think they got there for a reason Red: growing up in the south, i've learned that tradition really sticks with you Black: that's where my girlfriend is now Black: deep in the traditional south Red: i wouldnt live anywhere else Black: no i like deep in the rich tradition of the south better Red: being a texan... well.. i cant explain it. Red: i even have a small tattoo of the outline of tx Red: alot of people here do Black: nice! Red: people from anywhere else wonder why we do it Black: where's a good spot to have that? Red: but you have to be texan to understand Red: i have ti on my left shoulder Black: i'll have to ask my friend giles Black: he's from houston Red: oh!! Red: me too! Black: here in new york we say houston as houston Red: oh goodness Red: i feel so distracted Red: i'm not sure why i am dreading my birthday Black: l like that word Red: another year older Black: dis tracted Black: like another track Black: how old now? Red: 21 Red: and i cant even drink Red: how sad is that? Black: *sadness* Black: no 21 is a great age Black: and recovery remember? Black: Recovery Red: yes, i know Red: i'll recover Red: recover from the operation Red: recover from the distance between my boy and i Black: you're resolving too! Black: resolving to recover Black: a new year starts now Red: yes...yes it does... Red: i feel .....right now i just........feel.... Black: so throw away last week's time Red: i cant explain it Black: and ..... what.... something like set sail would be nice Red: i'm almost stoic right now Red: haha Black: stoic chap Red: if only i could set sail Black: for tomorrow's new horizon Red: a new sunrise Red: speaking of sunrises, which do you prefer Black: in glorious color Red: sunrise or sunset? Black: hmm Red: sunrise is my preference Black: i can only pick one? Black: yes! Red: its so fresh and new everyday Black: from lake tahoe Red: a new beginning Black: right over the mountains Red: oh i love lake tahoe Black: streaming color Black: warming mist Red: the sun somehow always makes me smile in the mornings Red: even when its in my eyes Black: yes especially then Black: the sun insistantly gets through the darkness Red: i feel like the sun is something reliable Red: thats what i love so much about it Red: theres a security about the sun Red: you always know the sun will rise again
